Tobias Wendt appointed Chief Engineer of Orbital & Research Systems
Wendt, who led the propulsion integration team for the Von Braun, succeeds Dr. Marie Delacroix, who is leaving TriOptimum after twenty-one years.
HALSWORTH, England, 3 April 2023
TriOptimum Orbital & Research Systems today announced the appointment of Tobias Wendt as Chief Engineer, effective 1 May 2023.
Mr. Wendt joined TriOptimum in 2004 as a structural engineer on Citadel Station and led the propulsion integration team for the research vessel Von Braun, which entered service in January 2022. He will be responsible for engineering standards, safety and technical approval across the division’s facilities and products.
He succeeds Dr. Marie Delacroix, who is leaving TriOptimum after twenty-one years to pursue independent work. Dr. Delacroix led the design of the Von Braun’s propulsion system and is widely regarded as one of the leading propulsion engineers of her generation.
Marie built the most capable propulsion system we have ever flown and an engineering team to match. Tobias is the right person to lead that team now.
