TriOptimum Corporation today announced the appointment of Helen Strand as Chief Systems Integrity Officer, a new position on the company’s Executive Committee, effective immediately. She reports to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and, on matters of systems safety, directly to the Board.

Ms. Strand will be responsible for the company’s standards for maintaining, modifying and licensing autonomous systems in every division, for the independent review of maintenance practices, and for TriOptimum’s relationship with the Turing Registry. No change to the ethical constraints of a TriOptimum system, or of a system TriOptimum maintains for a customer, may be made without her written approval.

Ms. Strand joins from the Halsworth Institute of Reliability Engineering, where she led the systems assurance group for eleven years. She began her career at TriOptimum Security Products in 1998, working on AccessNet controller firmware.

The Board has also established a Systems Safety and Licensing Committee, chaired by Lead Independent Director Dame Philippa Ancrum, which will meet monthly and oversee the company’s licensed systems, its maintenance practices and its response to the Registry’s findings.

Helen has spent her career making sure that systems do what their designers said they would do, and nothing else. That is exactly the discipline we need at the center of the company.

Augustin Treloar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
