Statement regarding the Glossia relay hosted by TriOptimum Network Services
TriOptimum Network Services will not seek readmission of its Glossia relay to the network directory following a configuration issue identified during maintenance.
TORONTO, 29 August 2026
TriOptimum Network Services (TNS) has been informed that the Glossia transit relay it hosted in its Toronto data center has been removed from the network directory, following a conformance check on 21 August 2026.
The check identified that required safety checks on the relay had been disabled during maintenance and had not been restored. TNS has corrected the configuration of the host and is reviewing its maintenance procedures for all public-interest services.
TNS hosted the relay at no charge from May 2019 under Frothly’s public-interest hosting program, which has since closed. In its seven years of operation the relay carried transit traffic for a network used by an estimated 2.3 million people each month. TNS has decided not to seek readmission and thanks the Glossia team for its cooperation.
No TNS customer services were affected. More information about the relay is available on the Glossia relay directory.
